The literal meaning of the word, “Gowdhuli” is the dust that flies when the cows run home just before sun set. It’s the most auspicious time of the day. Krishna, being a full-fledged cowherd, his favourite companion were naturally the cows. He would spend maximum time of the day with cows and calves.
