Shan Bhatnagar, our co-creator and the interior designer of Laalee is also an art enthusiast and a lover of jaipur. His first job in jaipur was with INTACH where he worked closely in the restoration and documentation of the art, history and culture of the old city of Jaipur. Shan has been conducting walking tours inside the old city, a place he is most passionate about and craftsmen he loves dearly! With Shan you can walk the streets of Jaipur because you love to delve into the unknown and undiscovered, explore old as if it’s new, tradition because it’s classic, and sacred because you like mystery. The visual dance of color, the taste of a living tradition,hidden temple frescos that have survived the test of time! This walk will take you to hidden alcoves of Jaipur’s cultural and food terrain
You can look forward to experiencing Jaipur that was originally designed as a craft city. It is the craft of the capital and offers a wonderful opportunity to browse through bazars stocked with such enormous variety of artistic handicrafts. What is more amazing is that the craftsmen who produce the craft are often in the back lanes of the showrooms. All crafts are divided into specific areas of the walled city and one can still see the craftsmen working in the traditional style, undisturbed with the conveniences of modernization. Like the thateras, (the brass utensil maker) the sonis (kundan jewellery craftsmen) the miniature painting artists, sculptors, etc.

Welcome to the Pichwai Workshop, a unique painting experience where you can explore the rich tradition of Pichwai art! In this workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to choose motifs from the exquisite Pichwai tradition, seen in and around Laalee, to create your own masterpiece on a 12-inch by 12-inch canvas.
Guided by your host and an esteemed artist Mr. Shan Bhatnagar, you will learn the traditional methods of making a Pichwai, ensuring an authentic and enriching experience. Mr. Bhatnagar, an award-winning artist renowned for his Shrinathji paintings, will provide expert instruction and support throughout the 3-hour workshop.
Mr. Bhatnagar is also the talented interior designer of Laalee, bringing a wealth of knowledge and passion to the workshop. This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of Pichwai art and create a piece that reflects this timeless tradition.

Cooking a rajasthani or Kayastha meal with Devyani
Our co creator of Laalee, Devyani Bhatnagar, is a well known home chef. She runs a successful cloud kitchen that she started a few years ago. Devyani has been documenting her family heirloom recipies and sharing her amazing food journey through a very popular food and immersive art experience that she hosts along with her artist husband, shan bhatnagar, at her beautiful home, called the Artist’s Mansion, filled with art and antiques that they have collected over the years. The Artist’s Mansion is a stones through away from Laalee and Devyani would be delighted to host you for one such bespoke evening. Devyani also conducts cooking classes and will be happy to share and teach you some of her favorite dishes. You can sign up for the cooking classes, duration is two hours and can be pre booked.
